PoliceAPP (law enforcement hiring platform)
Description
No description
Problem Statement
The NJ State Park Police seek to increase the number of officers in their ranks to ~100 officers from the current 80. Utilizing a platform like PoliceAPP will expose positions in NJSPP to a larger applicant pool as well as address the need to streamline and better manage the law enforcement hiring process.
Project Justification
The Civil Service Commission has implemented an alternate route hiring initiative which allows Civil Service law enforcement agencies to hire by way of application. The PoliceApp platform will collect the applications and capture the demographic reporting criteria required annually by the State Attorney General’s Office. The NJ State Park Police hope to utilize this platform to increase the exposure of openings within the NJSPP to increase the number of officers.
Estimated Transactions
Up to 250 a year.
Target Rollout Date
6 January 2025
Target Rollout Date Reason
It will be the start of the new year.

As of today, I could not find any NJDEP vacancies on PoliceApp and a listing existed here: SPFHS-2025-22 State Park Police Officer - NJ Department of Environmental Protection - Career Page
Purchase order complete. Next step is for State Park to Police to work on onboarding to the PoliceApp platform.
Got update from OIT that this can be pursued as a sole source DPA. Working on getting sole source statement from vendor like Dept. of Human Services did as well as statement from NJ State Park Police of the need for this sole source vendor.
Discussed with Grace Yuan, DHS’s IT Procurement Technical Approval Request that was submitted as part of the DPA PO packaged by Dept. of Human Services. Grace is going to contact OIT about the TIP to determine if DEP can use the same Custom Agreement / Exemption.
Still moving toward procurement which is anticipated to come through resellers (T3121). Ben working toward getting pricing from Police App with the Parks Police (licenses, services, etc.).
Ben is checking with Carolyn Keefe with input from Jim M. - see attached email chain.
see attached email chains from HR and DOIT greenlighting a purchase. Purchase path details still to be worked out but expected to model DHS purchase.
