[VG4] UPnP setting is enabled but cannot connect using external IP:webport
Description
Summary: When enabling UPnP in Network settings, my custom web ports are not opened and the NVRs are not accessible using the external_IP:Web_port
Could we investigate if this is an issue with my router or the recorders themselves?
External IP: 47.180.64.244
VMAX IPs 192.168.96.3:803 | 192.168.96.6:806
Attempts at rebooting NVRs proved unsuccessful.

@FOCUS_JH You were right about the ICMP echo request from WAN being turned off on the router’s Firewall settings, thank you for pointing this out.
I disabled UPnP service on the recorder and port forwarded the web port (803). Connection to the recorder using DDNS hostname and external IP where successful from within the network as well as external networks.
There is another router above our testing routers, but what port are you referring to? Before the latest 1.6.0.20 firmware upgrade, VG4’s UPnP settings would successfully open both WEB & TCP/IP ports in the same environment (
When I tested the same VG4 on another router, UPnP service was able to fully open the ports. The reason why web port was not being forwarded on the router was due to “803” and “806” falling under the reserved ports category (0-1023). After switching to “8006” on the VG4 on the other router, both ports successfully opened.
Resolving Jira ticket.
@FOCUS_JH I enabled UPnP and DDNS on VG49 (192.168.96.3)
It’s worth noting this is from a computer within the same 192.168.96.x network. Pinging the same domain name from an external network does not reply (did not port forward VG49’s ports after enabling DDNS)
ex) ISP modem/router ( 192.168.x.x) > ASUS Router ( 192.168.96.x) > NVR LAN (192.168.96.6)
@FOCUS_JH After checking my router settings, I noticed I needed to enable UPnP settings on my router. However after doing so and enabling UPnP settings on VMAX G4 again, my router is only listing the recorder’s TCP/IP port in the Port Forwarding list:
Attempted to connect to the site via DW Mobile+ app using external IP 47.180.64.244 and port 9003 but the site was not found:
Ping.eu shows port 9003 is closed
Recorder’s web port remains closed and untouched by UPnP settings.
