NJDEP DFW’s Bureau of Information and Education has offered in-person programs prior to COVID-19 reaching thousands of people annually. Programs ranged from half day to all day to weekend trainings. Hooked on Fishing-Not on Drugs offer weekend train-the-trainer workshops, fishing and hunting clinics are offered as 1-day programs, and Trout in the Classroom requires in school tank setup. The need to offer programs still exists but due to COVID-19 restrictions, in-person instruction is not feasible. As a result, staff would like to develop virtual online training courses that could be offered in lieu of the in-person instruction portion of workshops, or as a complement to a meet-up with COVID-19 precautions in place. Using Thinkific’s software platform, that provides the storage and platform to develop, create and offer virtual programs would allow staff to easily input current content into ready-made templates. Additionally, Thinkific provides ways to easily track participation in courses, evaluation tools and to easily store all participant workshop information.
