The Appliance and Equipment Efficiency Standards Rule proposal will codify and establish reporting mechanisms to support the Appliance Law. There will be a need to collect annual reports from appliance manufacturers. We anticipate that the rule proposal will have a complete draft in July 2023 with a tentative November 2023 filing date in the NJ Register.

This project is required through legislation (P.L. 2021 c. 464). The law provides the authority to establish rulemaking as necessary to implement provisions of the act. The rule requires reporting on this data, and collecting it electronically is the only practical way to process and handle the quantity of data that we will be requesting.
