DEP Hardware Inventory-related updates or upgrades

Description

This project will produce well-researched recommendations for enhancing the inventory capabilities within Ivanti at a minimum, and will consider if and how to adapt or adopt tools that can use trends in help desk ticketing to inform purchase decisions, including warranties. If recommending new steps or toolsets, the project will grow to include implementation.

Problem Statement

The Ivanti system was acquired and set up for support and hardware tracking and deployment under previous leadership prior to centralized purchasing and its greater inventory demands.

Project Justification

There is a need to understand the current options, service and cost structure against the potential to adopt newer cloud-based toolsets that Ivanti or others may offer and which might optimize not just inventory, but also linking of support issues to inform hardware and warranty expenditures and choices. Ivanti is known to offer comprehensive IT Asset Management (ITAM) tools with greater scope than we are currently utilizing.
