2) unlock ship ports
3) remove one of the ships components in the aft section of the ship, like the power plant, manually using a tractor beam
4) turn your tractor beam off for a moment
5) re-attach the component you just removed

the components may not be reseated, because the snap to the cargo grid instead of snapping onto their intended component hardpoints
