2) Enter a ship
3) Find a box with materials ( like taking out HRT or just throw out a box with scrap)
4) enter scanning mode
5) Scan , see the box highlighted and wait for scanning sound to end

Scanning ended but no information regarding box content

There should be information what is inside the box

Workaround
----------
jump out of the ship and use tractor beam instead
