The majority of the data compiled in the proposed Dashboard is already identified on the DEP’s drought website. Creating a dashboard version of this data will simplify viewing of the multiple data sources and improve communication of critical water supply status information. The Delaware River Basin Commission has developed a comparable product and reports that is has improved data use and communication. See hydrosnap.drbc.net . Additionally, there are already ArcGIS dashboards being used to successfully provide information internally and externally to the public by the DEP. Displaying data in an impactful way is one of the biggest challenges of scientific communication and this dashboard greatly assists with that.
