After Hurricane Sandy, the DEP received $150M in federal funding for the Rebuild by Design Meadowlands. The project will reduce flooding within the municipalities of Carlstadt, Moonachie, Little Ferry, Teterboro and South Hackensack. This project supports DEP Priority 1. The project funding has an expenditure deadline of September 2023. We are working to acquire the necessary easements and property to construct the project. To support this effort through visual maps and tracking the process, we want to create a webmap highlighting the parcels within the project area and linking the appraisal costs, offer letters, and communication materials associated with each parcels accordingly. A webmap seems the most appropriate to achieve this goal and we will be able to identify the status of each easement visually. The webmap would be created now and in use until all easements and properties have been acquired for the project. It will be used as a reference during construction.
