H2S Drone
Description
A hydrogen sulfide monitoring drone will help Air Compliance and Enforcement proactively measure and address hydrogen sulfide issues at landfills before they become a problem for host communities as well as effectively respond to, identify, and work to fix hydrogen sulfide issues when they arise.
Project Justification
In recent years landfills within the state have posed a nuisance for their host communities. In multiple occasions those landfills have been found to be in violation of a recently implemented 30 ppb fence line standard (NJAC 7:27-7.3). A hydrogen sulfide monitoring drone will help Air Compliance and Enforcement proactively measure and address hydrogen sulfide issues at landfills before they become a problem for host communities as well as effectively respond to, identify, and work to fix hydrogen sulfide issues when they arise.

Drone was originally approved and acquired, but complications including new rules requiring transponders, plus other issues may result in this project literally never getting off the ground (sorry). Marking this project complete to reflect that pre-work and acquisition were completed despite new confounding issues.
