NJPACT Rule Revision - Map updates
Description
Creation of a mapping tool to enable Department staff and external regulated community to determine limits of regulation under revised Flood Hazard Area Control Act Rules and Coastal Zone Management Rules./Creation of a GIS-based map layer to depict land areas that will be submerged when sea levels rise by 5 feet./ Creation of a GIS-based map layer to depict land areas that will be inundated by the regulatory flood event when sea levels rise by 5 feet.
Project Justification
Draft revisions to the Coastal Zone Management Rules (N.J.A.C. 7:7) and Flood Hazard Area Control Act Rules (N.J.A.C. 7:13) create a new subset of an existing regulated area in response to Executive Order 100 (NJPACT), and ) will result in a regulated area that is more expansive than it is under the current version of the rules. Visual mapping is needed to enable Department staff and the regulated community to determine regulatory limits. Without this map, implementation of NJPACT Rules (Flood Hazard, Coastal Zone Management) in the Division of Land and Resource Protection (f.k.a. Division of Land Use Regulation) will not be feasible.
