Licensed Operator - Web Platform for Licensed Operators to View Training Options
Description
Deliverables include …
(1) Centralized Schedule: Develop a public facing centralized schedule (master calendar) or dashboard that presents all the available courses.
(2) Course Provider Upload: Each course provider shall have ability to maintain the courses that they are providing via this tool. Course providers will be responsible for first loading the information and for any subsequent edits as scheduling changes.
(3) 1 Year: This tool shall be able to display classes as far out as 1 year from the current date. It is envisioned that this tool will have a Calendar look and feel.
(4) DEP Master Calendar: There should be some reference or link to this tool from DEP’s master calendar.
(5) Web-based vs In-Person: This tool shall easily distinguish between which courses are web-based vs. in person type classes.
(6) Water vs. Waste vs. Both: This tool shall distinguish the difference between which classes count towards a Water or Wastewater license. In some case it may count towards both a water or wastewater license. This should be crystal clear to the user.
(7) Multiple Courses: Multiple courses may be scheduled on the same day and time by different course providers. The tool used for this solution will need to take this into account.
(8) Drop-down Menus: It is envisioned that a user will have interactive drop-down menus. If they choose “Water” centric courses, only the “Water” courses will remain on the calendar and all other non-water affiliated courses will disappear. The same concept shall exist with a drop-down menu for Web-based vs. In-Person. If user chooses one or the other, then the item not selected disappears off the calendar to make the available options clearer to the user.
(9) Links: There should be a link to the course provider associated with each date/time schedule listed. If the user of the tool wants to sign up for that course, they should be able to click on that item and be brought directly to the course providers web page to sign up.
(10) Course Description: A short concise description of the course shall be available to users when clicking on a date/time link for a particular course.
(11) Color Coding: May be useful to color code difference between Water, Wastewater, and Both.
(12) Audit Trails: The course content will need to be tracked and preserved so the information entered by the course providers must reside in a permanent database system. Maybe NJEMS!
Project Justification
DEP’s goal is to build some type of public facing web platform that enables course providers to upload their specific course, and date/times for that course into one central location. The initial though is to present this through some type of calendar tool that Licensed Operators may view and search for availability of upcoming classes.
Purchase Order is now with Insight as of 3/7/24. This purchase order is a combination of ITPD 337 ‘Licensed Operator - Web Platform for LO to View Options’ and ITPD 312 ‘BMWM Laboratory Info Mngmt System (LIMS)’.
OMB approved the Carrollton/Insight $490,948.77 procurement package on 2/21/24 and will be informing those that are involved in next steps very soon.
Procurement package has been approved by both the Division and AC office. Was sent to Budget and Finance on 1/8/24.
Carrollton provided an updated quote on 1/3/24. Insight was the only reseller to provide a price quote. I have requested that the Division begin processing this and alerted them that we have several groups that must review this package and there is a 2/15/24 expiration date. Division will approve, then it will go to B&F because its > 250K, then it should make its way over to DOIT. We will keep an eye on it and jump in if it seems to get caught up somewhere. Two projects are combined in this package, (IPTD-312a: Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and

7/6 - IT project sheet sent to CGI for estimate
7/6: IT Project sheets are done. Need to get estimates from CGI.
Interviewed staff. I need to write up the project IT sheet and send out for program’s review. Hope to have complete in week or two.
This is a new project. I need to meet with folks to find out more details and to formalize over next few weeks. Putting this into Jira so DOIT is aware of need and potentially it could be good fit for the 2.5 million. Will update Jira once I know more.
