RSP Service - GP-021B for Outdoor Containers Fumigation
Description
The business process of this general permit (launch service, attachments, submittal, certification, payment, auto-approval, etc.) is the same as the current Air General Permits created in-house by DOIT with the exception of some minor changes under the Permit Procedures Section and Permit Details section, which will be provided in documentation to DOIT when the project begins.
Step 7/8 – Permit Details for GP-021B are very similar to the current manual GP-021A for Indoor fumigation operations.
Please see the attached forms, “GP-021A registration online.docx” which can give you an idea of how the registration for GP-021B can be created.
Project Justification
Going through DOIT to enlist CGI’s assistance is a more costly alternative that was used for GPs in the past. DOIT
has now been developing these internally for several years, and have a lot of experience, making this avenue the most appealing. If the GP was not online, we could create a paper form that would have be sent in and processed manually, which would entail a very large amount of time and effort for staff.
Without a General Permit (worst option of all), every application would have to be submitted as a case by case air permit application, which would entail a large amount of staff time and effort, delay approvals, and cost more for applicants since this type of application is more expensive than a General Permit.

service is available on DEP Online.
Mike K. is testing this with Air folks in JEMR. CGI is currently reviewing the Release Package and an issue with the Approval PDF Requirements not loading. It worked fine in Dev and then stopped when deployed to JEMR. Mike compared Dev and JEMR tables after seeing the issue and didn’t notice anything off.
