Cheesequake State Park Security Cameras
Description
Vehicle break-ins have been a problem at Cheesequake State Park and other Parks administered by the State Park Service. Without video evidence of to show the coming and going of vehicles / visitors to the parks it makes it difficult for the State Park Police to investigate such crimes. It is believed that the mere presence of security cameras can act as a deterrence as well.

All camera equipment has been received. Dave Leitinger is working on scheduling installation and work by camera rep for final setup. Last work on site was 9/17/24.
Site visit with Dave Leitinger, Supt. Jon Luk and the Hanwha camera representative to do a hardware assessment. Determined to go with a NVR based system with 2 dome cameras (Q series) at the toll booth to monitor the entry and exit of vehicles. Also looked at location for a camera(s) at the trail head parking lot across from the maintenance complex. This area has a high level of break-ins. Determined a location near the parking lot and the maintenance facility where a trench could be dug to install conduit for a POE camera system on a pole. See photo (20240103_Cheesequake_Cameras_parking_lot).
Awaiting hardware list from Hanwha to then do a quote request from resellers. The equipment at the tollbooth can be installed by DoIT / SPFHS.
Teams meeting with Supt. Jon Luk & Dave Leitinger to discuss camera need. Setup a tentative meeting on Wednesday January 3rd 2024 to do a site visit with the Hanwha rep for a hardware needs assessment.
