Bass River Beach Complex Internet Connection
Description
No description
Problem Statement
A new beach complex building has been completed in Spring of 2024 at the Bass River State Forest swimming area. The original building did not have internet access. The current superintendent has expressed a need for internet connectivity at the building for office room(s) / group meeting rooms.
Project Justification
Internet connectivity for staff can facilitate their work duties as well as provide access to information for training of seasonal staff like lifeguards. Training at the facility complex will keep staff from having to travel to the Admin Office. The Admin Offices conference room is not big enough for a large group of staff.
Estimated Transactions
A cellular router appears to be the best cost-effective option at ~$50 a month.
Target Rollout Date
1 August 2024
Target Rollout Date Reason
Internet connectivity for the summer season will help staff complete their work duties / training

Working with Dave Leitinger to evaluate options for connectivity. Dave has been on site an observed that existing networking infrastructure was not adequate such as non-terminated / labeled network cabling. There is also no hardline such as cable / fiber to the building. A cellular router would be the most cost-effective solution, testing of carriers is ongoing.
