CEA and IANA Service
Description
When groundwater contamination exists at a site, a Ground Water Classification Exception Area is required to be established as an Institutional Control prior to define the area of contamination, contaminants present, and the length of time contamination is expected to remain. Currently, CEA proposals cannot be submitted electronically through an RSP service.
In October 2024, amendments to the SRRA rules were proposed which will require a similar institutional control for Indoor Air. These amendments must be finalized by October 21, 2025.
Project Justification
The CEA cannot be submitted through an RSP service. Creation of an RSP service to accept Institutional controls will expedite the remedial process and reduce errors in the submission.
