This application will allow users to look up location-specific fishing regulations. The project was requested by the Bureau of Freshwater Fisheries (BFF) and written into OIS’ grant proposal. While BFF produces an annual Freshwater Fishing Digest detailing all the regulations found in this application, the application will allow for more quick and easy identification of the regulations that apply to any given waterbody. The application will be accessible from a smartphone so that someone who is out fishing can look up the regulations that pertain to where they are fishing.

All freshwater waterbodies (streams, rivers, canals, lakes, ponds, reservoirs, etc.) in New Jersey will be coded with location-specific regulatory information that will be easily accessible through pop-ups in an online map application.
