BIR Automated Inspection and Review
Description
CSRR is looking to build an AI App which will look at the Inspectors Fact sheet, CID, and information proved in the submission of an online service for PA/SIs, RIs, RARs, and RAWs to determine if a full review or component review should be conducted.
Project Justification
CSRR is tasked with overseeing the remediation of contaminated sites in New Jersey. As of March 2025, 9,293 active LSRP cases require submission of key documents for inspection and review. 100% of these submission require an inspection to determine if a more detailed review is required to ensure protection of New Jersey residents.

Weekly meeting in July and August have produced an AI App which looks at the Inspectors Fact sheet, Case Inventory Document (CID), and the step-by-step process for BIR inspection reviews to identify documents that may require further inspection and review.
The model is functioning as expected, but we need to validate its performance through testing. BIS is currently working with BIR to identify document that fall into one of the following two categories:
Documents likely to fail and be flagged for further inspection and review
Documents likely to pass and require no further review
