AGO Map for Phytoplankton Programs
Description
The Leeds Point facility maintains several MS Access databases (one of which is a Phytoplankton db) . One of the customized features of this database application is an ‘export results’ and ‘export station locations’ button. When hitting these two buttons the database generates two .csv files. One file represents the phytoplankton results formatted in a specific structure. The second file represents the locational data (site locations). These structures will not change.
The main concept of the project is to identify a BGIS server location for Marine Water Monitoring to continuously upload and overwrite this pair of .csv files as the bureau receives new data in their database. Then BGIS will run some type of builder process on those files on a nightly basis so that its constantly rebuilding itself with up to date information. Recreating the station layer Phytoplankton, and results table. We will just work on Phytoplankton first. Then if everything works well, will move on to the other two AGO requested projects for Estuarine and NSSP and leverage what was done for the Phytoplankton project.
