NJ Beach Program - DEP to EPA XML Submission

Description

enfoTech will build a beach closure and sample monitoring data flow based on SQL. For the secondary type of data like beach attributes, DOIT and the program will work together to submit the data to EPA by using the template MS Excel spreadsheets that we’ve used for the past 15 years. A determination will be made if this portion can easily be automated at another time in the future.

Problem Statement

Following the completion of the Rutgers system revamp, the next steps involve cloning the new database structure for DEP, establishing a data transfer process from Rutgers to DEP, and creating new XML files to facilitate data transfer from DEP to the EPA to meet grant requirements.

Target Rollout Date Reason

After each beach season, the program is required to submit the current year's beach data to EPA to meet grant requirements by March 30th. This has proven to be a time-consuming process even with some of the automation built in.

Considering this project a success. Data is accurately being sent from the DEP node to EPA node for both beach water quality and notification results to satisfy our grant requirement.

Mike M. / Aleem gave enfoTech the okay to start building the two new beach data flows. enfoTech estimates approximately 4 weeks. Hope to be testing sometime in late August.
