Before December 2026 we need to switch from NODE to API for translating our hazardous waste inspection and enforcement action data from our NJEMS system to USEPA’s RCRAinfo system.

USEPA provides grants to our Department to enforce the RCRA regulations for hazardous waste management. This funding requires us to conduct various inspections, issue appropriate enforcement actions as warranted and record such data in their RCRAinfo database system. The method used to “translate” must be changed from a NODE to API approach by December 2026.

USEPA will retire the NODE in December 2026. We need at least a month before this date to verify our data is correctly and completely translated to RCRAinfo using API's insteaed of NODE.
