Comprehensive PFAS data tool
Description
This project aims to identify, collect and assemble for integrated analysis all relevant PFAS data for the state of NJ. Mapping will be an essential element of the tool although all analysis needs for data sources and types may not be clear at the outset. The project may use or model on EPA offerings such those found here: PFAS Resources, Data and Tools | US EPA
Problem Statement
The DEP has and is gathering increasing data on PFAS including contamination in the environment (groundwater, soils, fish tissue, etc.), in drinking water and from known and potential sources. However, there is no means to combine this data for analysis and visualization to readily inform actions and policymaking.
Project Justification
PFAS is a significant contaminant of concern, and the impact, scope and consequences of its use, disposal, discharge transport and fate in the environment are still very much being discovered and understood.

Data gathering going on. No demo expected for 2025 PFAS summit, just conceptual discussion of the tool and its development. As per today’s check-in with Christine.
