EJ - automated GIS layer of sites with EJIS (Environmental Justice Impact Statements)

Description

build an automatically updated GIS layer using SQL to grab data from the newly entered NJEMS project data managed by OPPN. The layer would add sites based on the existence of an EJIS and will likely allow for display of active EJIS by default and selection of all other breakdowns as applicable (complete, denied, approved, etc)

Problem Statement

Citizens can be notified of EJ law activity and updates to posted EJ information based on selection of one or more counties but cannot easily see where exactly any site undergoing an EJIS evaluation may be located in proximity to a home, place of business, school, or other location of interest to them.

Project Justification

This project will produce a means for citizens to locate precisely any EJ-subject site with active (and likely also completed) EJ law obligations to produce an EJIS (EJ Impact Statement). This level of awareness and review by citizens for proximity to impacts is inherent in the high priority EJ initiative.

Project needs to rely on the NJEMS data for a status of the EJIS. Next step would require time from Dave Pepe. Knute to place this potential on the next EJ check in.
