Mobile Field Survey and Application Development to Support Wetlands Field Verifications
Description
Project is to develop field survey forms using Survey 1 2 3 needed to capture wetlands specific data attributes during field verification site visits. A DEP hosted application is also to be developed which can be used on mobile devices which will allow the survey forms to be accessed in the field to capture and submit the field data to the DEP portal. The application framework will also support the development of a project dashboard which can be used to track the progress of the site visits. The application will be shared with the contractor selected to perform the site investigations.
Problem Statement
There is no standard tool for collecting and submitting field generated land use/land cover (LU/LC) evaluation to DEP. This makes the effort more costly and risks less consistent results.
Project Justification
DEP anticipates an RFQ for services to do delineation in the field as a part of a QA/QC for three competing photo- and LiDAR-generated analysis which have now returned different results. There is need to for extensive and accurate manual field delineation that can be used to qualify and select from the more efficient photo-derived efforts.
