Wildlife Permitting Online
Description
This project will enable online application and renewal of wildlife permits. This must consider enterprise (NJEMS & RSP) vs. other options such as SimpliGov.
Problem Statement
Some 6,000 permits exist now and require renewal annually which happens on paper with physical checks. This includes all of the liabilities well known to such process, mainly inefficiency but also payment handling reliability and risk.

Meeting with Jim B and Kim August 25. . Not a lot of leeway in DOIT to begin immediately. Kim secured broader access and training resources for program staff (leveraged from Green Acres) in order for program in best position to be ready when DOIT has capacity. Sept 3rd - Karen, Michele and Jim reported on planning and asked about rule stability. Rule changes are in the works but they are along way off (not yet scheduled). More to come from program on rule plans.
4/15/2025 Meeting set with DOIT and Fish & Wildlife Mgt/staff for initial discussions F&W’s future vision for Wildlife Permits and high-level business needs.
