State Tree Nursery Online Store Front
Description
This project will provide NJFS the means to market Nursery stock and some informational products (Books, Calanders) electronically to the public. Including means for online payment, producing shipping orders, customer tracking.and annual sales and accounting reports. PII information will be involved in payment transactions.
Project Justification
The current nursery software package in use is no longer supported by the vendor. To comply with Treasury operational guidance a new means of tracking sales, revenue generated, annual reporting and customer information is necessary.

project is being considered with others under an expanded Tyler Tech platform now known as Resident Engagement Platform. Conversations are ongoing about possible means to acquire these services (T3121, vs a NASPO contract). See attached SOW that includes mention of the online store for the nursery.
Meeting with Ben today. Discussed how all Parks likely eventually need a single retail shop and gate receipt system, possibly connected to the existing license sales. Maybe other states have this - consider Shop - Colorado Parks and Wildlife IPAWS (cpwshop.com)
Cheryl Bruder informs that Tyler Technology would like to discuss this project with us. Looking to setup a meeting on October 18th at 3PM as most calendars look open then.
Meeting with DoIT (Pete Tenebruso, Jim Bridgewater, Knute Jenson, Michele Zola, Angela Witcher, Jim Dunn, Todd Wycoff, Ben Trotter) to discuss options for e-commerce for tree nursery products. All agreed that engaging Tyler Technologies is appropriate. Neet the following before meeting with Tyler Technologies.
Establish Project Manager (Forestry)
Todd Wyckoff will be project manager.
Need stats on number of transactions. Jim Dunn will be getting info from past three years
Due to schedules, plan is to reach to Tyler Technologies first week in September 2023. Will include Jim Bridgewater and Michele Zola in that contact.
Its possible to research and secure a separate eCommerce storefront/inventory, etc. and run the payment through Tyler Tech. OR enlist Tyler to build the entire solution, analogous to the park reservation system.
Consensus is that Tyler has been responsive and a good vendor.
Program has DOIT support to engage Tyler and will name a project manager in follow-up. Transactions number thousands (for 100,000+ trees) for $70-80k in annual sales although highly seasonal (2-6 months). Will likely need more info on average trans cost, etc. may impose minimums, etc. to go into a meeting. Ben to initiate with Mike from Tyler and will copy Jim and Michele on a meeting.
