Tyler has a capability for this type of solution and there is ongoing effort to expand the NASBO contract to make it available. Pete is moving the interest to Chris Rein. At this stage this path is anticipated eventually.
Ben recalls early 2023 questions about Tyler being kept under state contract. Rich Hyjack raised a word press option for calendar scheduling/sign-up tools as another option. Rich presented to parks staff (including Rebecca) about this and it looked possible. We need to re-visit these conversations to move this along next. Ben will refresh the conversation with the program as time permits.
On October 18th 2022 Cheryl Bruder of NIC (now Tyler Technologies) did a demonstration to Park staff (Communications, Interpretation and Education) of an event reservation platform that Tyler Technolgies now has. The group liked the features and functions. Since Tyler Technologies has the e-government contract it makes sense to go with them.
On 11/4/22 another demo is scheduled to be done by Tyler Technologies for Rentals and Point of Sale.
Parks will decide to further pursue after the 11/4 demo.
Program areas in SPFHS are currently using Eventbrite to do interpretive program reservations (for free). Inquiry has been made to current contractor NICUSA for e-government services regarding ability to setup an event / interpretive program registration / online payment system. NICUSA has told SPFHS that they can not provide this functionality.
Inquiry has been made with Rich Hyjack of DoIT. He explained that there is a module in WordPress that can do this functionality however there is no prior use of it and it is unclear how the payment portion would work. We have requested a demo of this module and are awaiting that.
